To honor the 70th anniversary of the turnpike, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission wanted a customized reference map and schematic diagrams for travelers. To give the piece a somewhat retro appearance, the PTC requested we incorporate historic design elements, including iconic postcards of Turnpike landmarks.
Working in collaboration with PTC staff, we were responsible for the design, layout, production, and editing of the map, schematic diagrams, and overall layout.
We used the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) for layout/design and all production. We also contracted with a high-volume printer for the project, and oversaw on-site quality control during the press run.
